Sunder Rang Mission
Sunder Rang, meaning Beautiful Colors, is an oasis in the desert landscape of Chandelao, where the local women create some of the finest pieces of clothing and home decor. Employing traditional methods to create contemporary products for people around the world. It might seem like a paradox that a place in the heart of the Thar Desert wants to be associated with colors when the desert is famous for being monochromatic. But that’s the beauty and the inspiration behind it. To make what seems impossible.
Our Projects
We started with 5 women in 2007 and now have more than 30 women working for the smooth operation of Sunder Rang. Our endeavor is to engage more women from in and around Chandelao so that more and more families can reap the benefit of employment and a stable income. We are also endeavouring for all around development of eco system and quality of living for all residents of Chadelao village in a holistic and sustainable manner. Education for girl child
Back in 2006 when Chandelao did not have a higher secondary girls’ school, girls had to drop out since getting higher education involved sending them to the next village.

‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’. One of the most important projects undertaken by the Chandelao Vikas Sansthan involved building and providing aid for building toilets in Chandelao.

The people of Chandelao need every opportunity to prepare them to face the world. And the Computer Education Center was a step in that direction.

Tree Plantation
Trees are our lungs and we can never have too many of those. So, in a beautification drive and as a measure to increase the green cover in Chandelao, 500 trees were planted around the local lake.

Higher Education for girls
In a further push and nudge to women’s education, a sponsorship/scholarship is provided by the Chandelao Vikas Sansthan for any eligible female candidate from Chandelao who wishes to pursue their higher education.
